Story Board Pages

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for creating, editing, and configuring storyboard pages in the StoryBoard AI application. A storyboard page is an atomic unit that holds content using the layout defined by a grid template. The same page can be used in subchapters, chapters, or storyboards.


1. Accessing Story Board Pages

  • Navigation: From the main menu, go to Setup: Story Boards > Setup: Story Board All Pages.
  • This opens the summary page, listing all existing storyboard pages.

2. Overview of Summary Page

The summary page displays a list of storyboard pages with the following columns:
- Page Name: The title of the storyboard page.
- Description: A brief description of the page’s purpose.
- Template Name: The associated layout template.
- Ref Template: The reference number for the template.
- Actions: Icons to edit or configure the page.
- Create New: Click this button to define a new storyboard page.
- Refresh: Click this button to reload and view updates.


3. Creating a New Story Board Page

Start New Layout:

  1. Click the Create New button.
  2. Fill in the following fields:
  3. Page Name: A user-friendly name to help others understand its purpose.
  4. Description: A detailed explanation of the page’s purpose and content.
  5. Ref Template: Select a layout grid template from the dropdown menu.
  6. Template Name: Displays the selected template’s name (non-editable).

Background Configuration:

  • Container Background Color: Choose a color for the page background.
  • Container Background Image: Instead of a color, upload an image from cloud storage. Click Browse to select an image.
  • Container BG Image Size: Choose from Auto, Contain, or Cover (recommended).
  • Container BG Image Repeat: Options include Repeat, Round, Space, or Repeat-X (recommended: Round).

Additional Options:

  • Show Page Tools: Toggle between TRUE and FALSE to display or hide collaboration tools.
  • Use TRUE for pages with multiple sections.
  • Use FALSE for simpler pages.

Save or Reset:

  • Click Save to finalize the new page.
  • Click Reset to clear the form fields and start over.
  • Click Close to exit without saving.

4. Editing an Existing Story Board Page

Open for Editing:

  • Click the edit icon for the desired page on the summary screen.

Editable Fields:

  • Modify the Page Name, Description, or Background Settings.
  • Template Name is displayed for reference and cannot be edited directly.

Save or Reset:

  • After making updates, click Save.
  • Click Refresh to restore the last saved version.
  • Click Reset to clear any unsaved changes.
  • Click Close to exit without saving.

5. Configuring Page Content

Access Configuration:

  • Click the cogwheel icon in any section of the page.
  • This opens the Configuration Window, which contains four tabs:
  • Component: Configure the type and details of the content.
  • Block: Set up structural elements within the section.
  • Container: Adjust container-level settings.
  • Context Wrapper: Manage context-level options.

Preview Options:

  • Template Preview: Shows the layout and structure without content.
  • Binding Tab: Displays sections for content addition.
  • Final Preview: Provides a visual representation of the completed page.

Adding Content:

  1. In the Binding Tab, select any section and click the cogwheel icon to configure content.
  2. Populate fields such as:
  3. Component Type (e.g., visualization, table).
  4. Discussion ID and Insight ID to link specific insights.
  5. Visualization Type and Preset Title for detailed customization.
  6. Click Save to apply changes.

Managing Sections:

  • Resize, move, or lock sections as needed to align content effectively.

6. Tips and Best Practices

  • Reuse Templates: Plan templates carefully to ensure they are reusable for similar pages.
  • Collaboration Tools: Enable page tools only when necessary to reduce clutter.
  • Background Styling: Use Cover for background images to maintain consistent presentation.
  • Final Preview: Regularly check the final preview to ensure the content displays as intended.
